Meditation...

To me, meditation is another tool to stay present, focused, and liberated in my daily life.

So many people want to practice meditation, but just few of them continue practicing, because it could be boring,
challenging, and at time seems "nothing happening"..

In order to obtain the complete calmness of the mind, we have to go through the path of boredom.
I recommend to learn the technique of your choosing from a very experienced teacher. There are many kinds of technique, and once you find the technique that benefits you,
you would like to stay with that technique, not mixing with any other type.

I am a Vipassana meditator. When I first experienced 10-day silent meditation course in Onalaska, WA, I thought
it was a life-changing experience. The course is taught by S.N. Goenka, who is originally from Burma, but brought this technique he learned to India, and now there are many Vipassana meditation centers throughout the world.

The technique is more than 2500 years old, based on Buddhism, but it has nothing to do with religion or rituals.
It absolutely blew my mind and continuous practice of this meditation has strengthen my ability to stay focused,
equanimous, and generally happy and content. My mind gets so clear after meditation that I can utilize every moment
of my life to fully, which is such a fortunate thing in this busy world.

Like the famous person said," If you want to change the world, take a look of yourself, and change from there."
We could change the world from right here, and we have the state of this planet.

Let's start working on our mind. Especially since we are opening our body so fully with yoga practice,
now is the time to go deeper into our mental state, eradicating the suffering, get liberated, and feel content.

I meditate two hours daily, as well as whenever a little time I can find (before or after yoga class,etc..). In addition, attending "group sitting" once a week, and partaking 10 day silent course once a
year as an annual retreat are great ways to stay in the technique and integrity of meditation.
